Pet: Sis

posted by Robin on 11/19/2010 at 3:50 p.m. Pacific

Now it has turned cold in addition to being windy and wet – even Sis was ready to turn around at the halfway point of our walk today! It was just miserable. But while we were out she still enjoyed sniffing and looking around – unstoppable as usual. Bonnie was there when we returned from our walk, and it was fun to see Sis go back and forth from her to me, hitting us both up for treats! Clearly she thinks it is completely appropriate that she have two slaves to do her bidding while you are out of town. We told her you are coming home tomorrow, and she looked unimpressed, but I'm sure she'll be excited to see you. Safe travels – you'll be getting home in time for our first predicted snowfall, yay!

Pet: Sis

Sis was pleasantly surprised to see me today! She was in the living room and didn't hear me come in. She took off running (or leaping) for the front door, then had to double back to be sure she had greeted me adequately. After that we had a great walk on a nice cool, dry day – perfect! She waited as impatiently as usual for me to finish writing a note before she got her good-bye snausage, and I threw in an extra Lean Treat for special. She's doing just fine, and I will see her again on Friday!

Pets: Clovis and Rigby

posted by Angie on 11/12/2010 at 8:05 p.m. Pacific

When I came in the house, only Rigby came charging in to see me. I wasn't that worried. I figured once Clovis heard the kibble hit the bowl she'd be downstairs in seconds. But she didn't come. I called for her. Nothing. Panic rising, I mounted a full search of the house from top to bottom. I was just trying to figure out how to get in the basement, thinking she might has snuck down there when your friends were moving things out, when I heard, "Angie, Clovis is out here." Annette and her daughter opened the door from the mud room, and Clovis hurried into the kitchen. She must have slipped into the mud room sometime during the day--I swear she was in the kitchen when I left last night. Anyway, the rest of the evening was anticlimactic. Annette's daughter chased the cats around a bit, then they left. I gave Clovis some special attention and gave Rigby her usual beauty salon time. I told them to say, "Buenos Dias Senora" when you get home, but we'll see.

Sis out for a walk

All is well with Sis! She greeted me with much enthusiasm and lots to talk about. It was cool but sunny today, great weather for a walk, and she had plenty of energy and showed no signs of stiffness. I think she is doing just fine with her new BFF! I will see her next on Tuesday, so check then for another update. (P.S. I was remembering last year when you were away at about this time and we had those torrential rainfalls while you were gone! Poor bedraggled Sis. Much more pleasant walking this time around - knock wood!)

Pets: Clovis and Rigby

posted by Angie on 11/11/2010 at 7:35 p.m. Pacific

Clovis and Rigby were awfully nonchalant about my visit tonight and grazed at their dinner at a leisurely pace, leading me to wonder if maybe, just maybe, they'd had an earlier snack. Well, we won't have to worry about them starving tonight (even if they usually try to convince me that's what will happen if I don't feed them pronto!). As usual, Rigby was the bossiest, insisting on her brushing and pets right away. I think Clovis, the thinker, lets Rigby swan around and get brushed first, because it means she has complete command of the kibble in the meantime! I'm always astounded when I remember those girls are sisters.

Pets: Clovis and Rigby

posted by Angie on 11/10/2010 at 7:40 p.m. Pacific

When I arrived for my appointment with Clovis and Rigby, I found them already entertaining guests! Your neighbor and her really cute daughter were in. Rigby stopped by to say hi quickly, but I heard the little girl say "Clovis" in the other room and Rigby darted out. I'm guessing both girls got some running around tonight, chased by a girl with a necklace of Disney princesses and an obsession with cats. It sounds like they won't be in the rest of the week, though. In the meantime, I scooped the litter box and made sure they had their dinner.

Pets: Clovis and Rigby

It was cold and rainy when I went to see Clovis and Rigby, but your house was nice and warm. The girls were very interested in dinner, as usual, and although both cats ran upstairs for a few minutes of brushing and play, they didn't want to be away from their food dish for too long while there was still kibble to be had. But since they like to switch off at the dish, I brought down a toy and played with them in the kitchen between turns at the bowl.

Pets: Clovis and Rigby

posted by Angie on 11/08/2010 at 7:00 p.m. Pacific

It was so nice to see the girls again today! I'm sure they remembered me, especially since after dinner Rigby beat me upstairs in pursuit of the kitty brush. I gave her a good brushing, and she showed her appreciation first by showing me her lovely derriere, and then by displaying her bountiful tummy. Clovis held back a little initially, but it turned out she wanted some brushing, too. After beauty time, the girls seemed a little too languorous for toys, so I petted each of them and talked about literature (Clovis is disturbed about the cat scene at the end of the new Franzen novel, and Rigby says she doesn't care, it's all made up nonsense anyway.)
