Pet: Blue

Blue standing still

Blue has gotten over being surprised at my appearance – any time I come by seems to be just fine with him! We had good hunting in the morning, and Blue showed me again how long he can stand completely still if he thinks there is a squirrel within range. He's like the silver guy downtown who pretends to be a statue. You should carry a hat with you and put it on the sidewalk for donations whenever Blue goes into one of his trances! Anyway, once again the squirrels had gone into hiding by the time we got out on our afternoon walk, so Blue took out his frustration with a very brisk pace that covered a lot of ground, and of course his head was swiveling like crazy the whole time, looking for any suspicious movement! As always, I had a blast hanging out with him – he is one happy pup! Safe travels home.

Pet: Blue

I've never seen a dog with such a clearly surprised expression as Blue had TWICE today: once when I came in the morning instead of my usual mid-day, and again later when I returned ON THE SAME DAY! That's a lot for a big guy to adjust to. But you know Blue – happy surprises always welcome! There were squirrels everywhere on our morning walk, and I was grateful for their habit of running on power lines or I never would have gotten him past those fir trees at 35th Place and Harrison. Not so many this afternoon, so I told him they had all been scared away by his stealthy stalking presence this morning. Which he totally believed. Back for more adventures in the morning!
